SilentManager enters 2009 working with 3 separate rugby union federations: Irish (IRFU) Australia (ARU) New Zealand (NZRFU)

SilentManager are proud to announce that sporting Federations Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU), Australian Rugby Union Limited (ARU) and New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRFU) have stepped up their commitment to fans by including a fantasy campaign as part of their official sites.

Working with SilentManager, the fantasy sports games specialists, the federations are using the fantasy sports and tipping games as an engagement tool to build online communities as well as utilising the site commercially via sponsorship and advertising revenue. The decision compounds how fantasy games have formed a real genuine relationship between fans, sponsors and federations.

The massive success of games licensed by sports bodies across the globe is evident of their declaration to commit to ‘real’ sports. Their dedication to using the gaming experience as a creative way of engaging the fans symbolises just how effective fantasy campaigns can be in communicating this message to a target audience.

O2 sponsors of IRFU Six Nations 2009 champions were able to further establish their relationship with IRFU in their sponsoring of the Six Nations fantasy game. Fans that played the game were also invited to join the IRFU supporters club. O2 advertising enabled fans to enter a competition which gave them the chance to have their name printed on the back of player’s shirt which were worn during a Six Nations match.

Rugby clearly dominates 2009 sporting calendar so for SilentManager it’s incredibly encouraging to be working with such class rugby federations. Jon Trigg, Managing Director says ‘We have always been confident about how our products can benefit sporting communities and channel intermediaries so it’s a great achievement that we are now backing our sporting idols’. The fantasy sports games can be found on the official websites of the Australian Rugby Union Limited (ARU) and New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRFU) and Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU).
